      We have used the Kahtoola micro-spikes for several years and love them. They are limited however when the ice is under several inches of snow. Bought a couple of pair of these for this type of situation. Had them out today for the first time on a mountain trail in the ADK and in one word, outstanding. Great traction on a day which was rather warm with variable conditions. Very impressed by the lack of snow clumping on the bottom of the crampon. Today was a day where that should have been a problem. Simple to set up in the boot once you figure out that you need to really loosen off the toe box before inserting the boot when setting these up to the boot. Boots with a rubber rand are a bit of a challenge if this is too tight. Once the boot is set up the crampon remained snug throughout our hike with no need for readjustment. Another great product from Kahtoola.
