Outstanding product
These are excellent micro spikes, but they are $30 to $50 more than comparable products from other providers. I have used these spikes for years and have no complaints about their performance, but will consider other companies in the future.
I bought these in 2022 after falling on the ice walking to work. Arkansas recently experienced an awful ice storm. This year, I was prepared. The Microspikes worked amazingly well. I did not slip once and the sidewalks and parking lots were pure ice and frozen slush. These are super easy to walk on and are life-changing for me. Now all of my coworkers want them. Thanks for making a fabulous product!
Got mine in 2010 and still going strong
Owned since probably 2013. These have run miles and miles of hard packed, Colorado logging roads and trails. Great on ice. Not one slip. Confidence with every, single step. Definitely want some terrain for these puppies to bite into (as they were intended) otherwise you’re going to wreck your gait. Only returning to buy some nano spikes, as we have recently moved to a more urban environment and they’re too beefy for a plowed, icy bike path. Rest assured your money will be well spent and get after it!
Bought a pair in 2017 and here we are in 2023 and still just as durable and long lasting as the day I got them. Will be buying another pair just to have on hand but great. Also, I wear a 12.5 hiking boot and I got the XL and they are perfect, I didnt go by the size chart.
I was recently educated about Micro Spikes during a winter skills training for search and rescue work. Having lived in southern Arizona my whole life, the extent of my dealings with snow was either fresh powder in the neighboring ski areas or thinly-packed ice just slippery enough to get someone hurt. However, during winter rescues, we encounter a variety of terrains and often in the most unfavorable of conditions carrying an excessive amount of gear, so sure and stable footing is a must. With Micro Spikes, I feel confident with every step in all of those environments without the need to carry different boots, snow shoes, or any other gear - just a lightweight pouch with spikes that slip on in no time. Experienced hikers also know that sidestepping up/down steep grade is frequent in some areas and is often a point of failure for slip-on traction; however, I've never been able to get these to fail or slip off my boots even in high-angle situations. Having the utmost confidence in your gear makes all the difference in a successful mission. After my first use in the real world, I ended up ordering 4 more sets to carry in my pack to lend out to ambulatory patients, teammates, or any others around that could use the extra traction. Of all the equipment I carry for winter work, these are, without a doubt, invaluable.
The rubber in newer Microspikes does not have the stretch of the originals. Each time the model changes they are more difficult to put on. We still have and use to first ones we bought more than 8 years ago. They are worn down and have several repairs, but are good for around home. We have bought several pairs over the years, but every new design gets harder to put on. Don't understand why the rubber is not as stretchy, we have never had the old ones slip off
